These Boots Were Made For Walking... No, Really.

October 30, 2016

There's one major, common thread in every one of my days: walking. The no car situation really threw me for a loop when I got here. Let's just say I've had to learn and practice patience when it comes to relying on public transportation. The upside: no car payment, no insurance and NO GAS $$$. All I have to do is dedicate a little extra time in my day to the subway and I save lots of dough...

This turns out to be a really beneficial thing for me. I now have lots of money to save and put away like the responsible human I am. Or, to buy these cute boots.

See, the other thing I had to learn to rely on, aside from the city transit system, are my feet. I do A LOT of walking. My commute to work involves about a couple miles of walking a day, and that's just to work. That doesn't count for my numerous trips to Trader Joe's, Baskin Robins, the cat cafe (this does exist and fortunately it's in walking distance from my apartment) and Pronto's Pizza. Needless to say, I need comfy shoes.

(I might lose any guy readers at this point...)

Sooo, I've been on the hunt for a cute pair of fall boots that I could roam the streets in and not have to pay at the end of the day with a million blisters. Cue: Nordstrom Rack. I got these beauties for under $100. They pair great with pretty much everything making them one my favorite closet staples.

And now that the weather is getting chillier, I've been wearing them with jeans and sweaters. I'm not kidding, they're a worth while investment... Considering I am currently in an entry level position, I gotta watch what I spend so a lot of what I wear to work and on the weekends is super affordable.

As I've gotten older, it's become more important to me to dress in what makes me feel confident. I am in an competitive field in an even more competitive city and I've truly found that dressing for the job inherently boosts my go get 'em attitude. So while this is about fashion, it's also about finding clothes that help me feel bold and fearless.

Stay tuned for more of my favorite fall pieces, I will be sure to mention where I got them!

I am also in the process of writing a post all about my job and how I ended up in editorial/social media field. I'm really excited about that one so be on the look out for it!

Have a fabulous week!
